Product recall: Amazon recalls hot tub due to electric shock fears – ‘serious’ risk

Product recalls are issued when an item could cause harm to individuals if used. When a recall is announced, companies usually ask customers to return the product to their nearest store if they have already bought it, or to stop using it.

The product is an inflatable hot tube with a brown exterior, and it can fit four to six people.

Its batch number is PH050018/OP3427 or OP3426.

The Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) has published the recall on its website.

The organisation displays a recall on its page if the product could affect the safety of the consumer.

DON’T MISS:

The CTSI has said the hot tub’s risk level is “serious”.

It could give individuals who use it an electric shock.

On its website, the CTSI stated: “This product poses a serious risk of electric shock as the heater element construction may fail during use and can allow the live connection to energise the water due to the ingress through the insulation.

“If a circuit is made between the energised water and earth (wet ground or metal object in contact with earth) there is a risk of electric shock.

Multiple companies have recently recalled food products.

Sainsbury’s is one of these companies.

The supermarket has issued an urgent recall on Quorn Vegeterian and Stuffing Slices sold at its stores.

According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA), this is because the product contains wheat (gluten) that is not mentioned on the label, making it a possible health risk to those allergic to wheat or gluten.

The product has been withdrawn from shelves and consumers have been urged to return it to stores for a full refund.
