Probe underway as Man City star pelted with bottles
Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne had objects thrown at him during their 3-1 win at Arsenal, sparking an investigation from English Football Association.
The midfielder, who scored and set up a goal as City took over top spot in the Premier League from the Gunners, was substituted late and became a target as he left the field, with plastic cups and bottles thrown at him. It’s understood the referee included the incident in the match report.

Arsenal is reviewing CCTV footage and confirmed if those responsible are identified they will face punishment.
“This is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” a Gunners spokesperson said.
The Belgium international made light of the situation after the match, and posted an image of himself at Emirates Stadium with the caption ‘beer anyone?’.
Another picture posted by De Bruyne, with a cup in the air near him, had the caption ‘thanks!’.
