Princess Kate’s sleep routine is strikingly similar to late Queen’s

As a busy mum of three with a schedule of royal engagements to attend to, a good night’s sleep is essential for Kate, Princess of Wales. And it seems Kate sticks to a strict bedtime routine, just like her late grandmother-in-law the Queen did throughout her seven-decade reign.

The Princess of Wales reportedly goes to bed at 10.30pm every night to ensure she’s refreshed for the day ahead, according to OK!.

And to make sure she’s comfortable before going to sleep, the future Queen Consort is said to be a fan of an early dinner around 6pm.

The late Queen also went to bed at the same time every night, clocking off duty at 11pm.

An expert at Eachnight previously told The Sun: “The Queen sleeps 8.5 hours a night, which is well within the healthy sleep range of an adult in the UK, who should be getting 8-9 hours a night, and impressive given the busyness of her schedule throughout her reign.”

She also reportedly enjoyed reading a bit in bed before she fell asleep, which is a great way of winding down after a busy day.

The Queen was also often pictured throughout her reign walking her beloved corgis around her many estates.

Another royal who enjoys a healthy lifestyle is Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and she has often spoken of how she fits exercise into her busy routine.

On her former lifestyle blog The Tig, Meghan wrote about how she wakes up early to seize the day.

She said: “The morning, as we all know, is that vital time that sets the tone for our day ahead.”

Meghan is thought to start her day with yoga, a practice famed for its health benefits.

The Duchess once told Best Health: “There are so many benefits that come with the practice of yoga… increased flexibility and strength, greater happiness, increased mental focus, a greater ability to relax, decreased anxiety and better sleep.”

Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland is a yoga instructor, so the exercise has been a big part of her life for years.

Meghan added: “Yoga is my thing. My mom is a yoga instructor, and I started doing mommy-and-me yoga with her when I was seven.

“I was very resistant as a kid, but she said, ‘Flower, you will find your practice – just give it time.'”

The Duchess added that she “started doing it more regularly” when she was in college.

Keeping a healthy diet is also important to Meghan, and she’s spoken previously about how she swaps caffeine for a green juice when she needs an energy boost.

But as a foodie, Meghan has spoken about the importance of balance and her favourite treats include wine and French fries.
