Princess Kate was seen blowing a kiss to someone she knew from the crowd at Wimbledon, presumably a member of her family, although it is not known who she was aiming at.
When Kate spotted them at the beginning of the match, she smiled and blew a kiss towards them, and body language expert Judi James commented on the sweet moment.
The expert claimed that there are “two clues” who Kate might have been looking at and blowing kisses to here: “Firstly there’s her smile as she looks across.”
Judi observed: “This is clearly a very authentic smile of warmth and pleasure at whoever’s eye she has caught.”
Also, “the style of smile suggests it is a ‘pinging’ smile, i.e. one she is returning as an acknowledgement of their smile”.
But there is one “telling detail here,” according to the body language guru, “which is the way her tongue seems to be pressed behind her upper teeth as she smiles”.
Judi claimed this “is usually performed when someone is looking at a very close friend or family member and wants to signal shared laughter and affection”.
“It might look like Kate’s regal smile but the tongue gesture keeps it personal, a tie-sign rather than just a smile performed like a nod of greeting.”
Then there is “the way she kisses her upright fingers to blow the kiss rather than holding them horizontally”.
Judi explained that this “is a more heartfelt kiss-blowing move, suggesting she’s blowing the kiss to her parents or to some younger relatives”.
Last year, Kate was also spotted blowing a kiss to her parents Michael and Carole Middleton who were enjoying the Wimbledon match.
