Premium Bonds: NS&I releases August 2021 prize draw results – have you won £1million?

Premium Bonds are held by many savers across the UK who hope to win life-changing sums of money. Every month, NS&I enters these bonds in a prize draw where holders can win up to £1million.

To check if one has won a prize through their Premium Bonds, they can use their holder’s number on NS&I’s prize checker on their website or through their app. This will be updated for August 2021 by tomorrow, Tuesday August 3.

Holder’s numbers can be found on a person’s Bond record or by logging into an NS&I account.

A holder’s number has either eight, nine or 10 digits followed by a letter.

A separate NS&I number can be used but only through the Premium Bonds prize checker app.

NS&I will let people know by text or email if they’ve won.

Premium Bonds can also be received by cheque or prize warrants.

This followed a U-turn from NS&I who planned to phase out Premium Bonds prize cheques.

Ian Ackerley, NS&I’s Chief Executive, said: “We have responded to feedback from some of our customers and we have decided to retain the option for them to receive Premium Bonds prizes through the post.

“We will continue to encourage customers to have their prizes paid directly into their bank account, as many have done so in the last 12 months.

“Having prizes paid directly into bank accounts is quicker, easier and more secure for our customers, while also being more sustainable and better value for the taxpayer.

“Customers who want to have their Premium Bonds prizes paid directly to their bank accounts or have their prizes reinvested, do not need to choose to manage their NS&I accounts online or over the phone, and our customer service teams will be on hand to help if they require further assistance.”
