The 48-year-old ex-Wales international bought the drop-top Ferrari when he played for Blackburn Rovers in the Premier League in 2006 – to celebrate the club qualifying for the UEFA Cup.

The 196mph motor – capable of sprinting from 0 to 60mph in just 3.9 seconds – was around £120,000 when new.

But Savage went on to break his leg shortly after buying the Italian motor, so didn’t get to drive it as much as he would’ve liked.

With only 26,000 miles on the clock, the classic red supercar has an MOT with no advisories – running up until May next year.

But it wasn’t enough to reach it’s expected estimate, as it was bought for £26,000 below the asking price.

Savage – now director of football at non-league outfit Macclesfield – has admitted to blowing over £500,000 on luxury motors.

The ex-Leicester City and Derby midfielder also had Lamborghinis, Aston Martins and Porsches in his garage.

The soft-top Ferrari was sold at H&H Classics auction at Duxford, Cambridgeshire.

This comes after a stunning Ford Sierra Cosworth that had been with the same owner for the past twenty years was up for sale at auction – and is set to go for a HUGE price.

Plus, an incredible collection of cars owned by the Guinness family has gone up for auction, including a £115k Rolls-Royce.
