Stacey Dooley was convinced her Masked Dancer dressing room reeked of vomit due to morning sickness.

During Saturday’s wild and wacky installment the presenter, 35, was unveiled as Prawn Cocktail, and described her goal was to be ‘a daft, drunk, annoying aunt’, hence why she chose the shrimp costume, so she wasn’t something ‘too sexy or girly’.

When quizzed by Davina McCall on all the fitness and gym references, Stacey joked: ‘I don’t know, I’m not fit at all they, just threw that in to throw you off’.

Last month, the former Strictly winner shared the news that she is pregnant with her first child, with boyfriend Kevin Clifton.

After she was eliminated during ITV’s latest episode, Stacey took to Instagram to thank those who helped with her routine.

‘A dancing, preggo prawn. You’re WELCOME,’ she wrote.

‘The choreographers were such sweethearts, and the entire crew BTS.]

‘Ta so much.

‘So fun! (Also, so sorry to my gorgeous runner, I just know my dressing room must’ve stunk of 1st trimester sickness.’

Stacey also said partner Kevin, whom she met on the Strictly, knew she was taking part in The Masked Dancer, but no one else in her life did.

When asked if he had been giving her tips, she laughed: ‘He only dances when he gets paid!’

Following Stacey’s elimination, nine undercover celebrities remain in the ITV show, with the likes of Candlestick, Odd Socks, Pillar and Post, and Pearly King left strutting their stuff.

After announcing the news she was expecting, journalist Stacey appeared on The One Show and expressed she felt ‘really lucky.’

‘I can’t quite believe it,’ she admitted.

‘I’m delighted actually, I feel really lucky.

‘Because I’m 35, so you never sort of take it for granted. But I can’t quite believe I’m going to be in charge of a little human being.’

The Masked Dancer airs Saturday evenings on ITV.
