Poundland’s chilled and frozen section coming to 50 stores by Christmas – what’s on offer
Poundland, who acquired Fultons Foods last year, has announced plans to convert 10 of the stores. The company is also expanding its chilled and frozen food sections to a further 50 of its stores.
As well as this, 10 Fulton Foods stores are also being transformed to meet customer needs and demand.
Two of the frozen food stores will be converted into Poundland Local convenience stores, five will become traditional Poundland stores and three will be refurbished as standalone PEP&CO Clothing & Home stores.
The announcement comes as Poundland plans to roll out the next phase of its Diamond ICE project.
It will bring chilled and frozen food to a further 50 stores, including a large number in Northern Ireland.
The five Fultons stores which will be transformed into Poundland stores are situated in Batley, West Yorkshire, Brighouse, West Yorkshire, Colne, Lancashire, Killamarsh, Derbyshire and Hucknall, Nottinghamshire.
Customers will have access to a huge range alongside the chilled and frozen food sections.
The three stores that will be turned into PEP&CO stores are in Garforth, Leeds, Westhoughton near Bolton and Crookes in Sheffield.
Shoppers will be able to access amazing value family fashion as well as homeware items including kitchen and bathroom.
Poundland’s retail and transformation director Austin Cooke said: “Today’s announcement is another example of the way we’re transforming the customer offer in our stores.
“And becoming the best Poundland we can be for our shoppers, is what motivates us to move at an amazing pace.
“We’re proud that this transformation programme – extending chilled and frozen foods, clothing and homewares is helping support town centres and high streets at a time they need it most.”
