All Tottenham fans wanted was Poch, instead they’re getting Post.

Ange Postecoglou is the heavy odds-on favourite to be the next Spurs manager with a deal set to be wrapped up in the next few days.

Celtic fans will be devastated as popular Post has just delivered the Scottish domestic treble while many Tottenham fans fear he’s going to be another Nuno Espirito Santos.

Maybe they shouldn’t be so dismissive and give the guy a chance.

Postecoglou is a character, his team plays attacking football while putting in a spirited shift and he encourages the best out of individuals.

His first job will be to persuade Harry Kane to stay and the signs are the England captain will stick around for another year until his contract expires.

Real Madrid and Manchester United will undoubtedly test Spurs’ resolve but it will cost at least £100million to do so and both clubs have other needs to fill.

Is Kane really worth that much? Well Tottenham’s talisman scored 30 goals in the top flight last season which was just six behind Erling Haaland and ten clear of Ivan Toney in third place.

Kane’s preference seems to be to stay in the Premier League and he’s obviously focused on breaking Alan Shearer’s all-time competition goalscoring record.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy knows he will face even greater wrath from fans if the face of the club is sold to a domestic rival and Kane, who celebrates his 30th birthday next month, must realise he will make an absolute mint as a free agent next summer.

He’s just 6/5 with bet365 to still be with Tottenham when the transfer window closes while Bet Victor offer 2/1 he replaces Karim Benzema in Madrid, with Sky Bet chalking up 3/1 on a switch to Old Trafford.

United could turn their attention to Viktor Osimhen, the Napoli striker who has just won the golden boot as well as the Serie A title, and he’s 6/1 to join them.

Chelsea are also interested in the 24-year-old Nigerian and are the same price with Bet Victor to land him to solve their penalty area problems.

Meanwhile, Celtic will need a new manager and former boss Brendan Rodgers is the clear 5/4 favourite with Paddy Power and Betfair to return to Parkhead.

25/1 Blackburn boss Jon Dahl Tomasson is an interesting option to be the next Leeds manager (William Hill).

• Carlos Alcaraz is 14/5 with Ladbrokes to set up a French Open semi-final with Novak Djokovic by beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in four sets. The Serbian may be taken the distance by Karen Khachanov and is 8/1 with William Hill to win their quarter-final in a decider.
