Popular PS Now game is coming to Xbox Game Pass

One of the most popular PS Now games added during 2021 will soon be available to play on Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft shared the news this week, confirming that Marvel’s Avengers would arrive on the streaming service on September 30.

The Avengers brawler has never lived up to expectations regarding sales, and there was some serious confusion over what type of game it was when it was first announced.

Since its launch, Marvel’s Avengers has seen several significant content updates released, with the latest adding the Black Panther and Wakanda to the game.

And now it’s been confirmed that Avengers will be available to play on Xbox Game Pass later this week as part of the service’s latest expansion.

There’s a good chance that Avengers will see a massive increase in players during this time, as was seen with it being made available on PS Now.

Marvel’s Avengers was added to PlayStation Now in April and was removed on July 5, 2021.

Square Enix and Sony only featured it for three months but during that time, it became the most played game on the service.

Marvel’s Avengers was the most played game on PS4 and PS5 consoles running PS Now between March 1 and June 1.

To put that data into perspective, Avengers hit the top of the console list having been available for only two of the three months.

On PC, Marvel’s Avengers only made it into fourth place, beaten by Bloodborne, Horizon Zero Dawn, and The Last of Us.

And as these are all first-party PS4 exclusives which at the time could only be played on consoles, it makes a lot of sense.

And it looks like there’s a good chance that Marvel’s Avengers will prove just as popular on Xbox Game Pass, as it will add a platform the game has never been featured on yet.

Avengers action will soon be available on phones, with Square Enix announcing this week:

“We’ve loved seeing your reactions to the new campaign, and today we’re excited to announce that we’re making the complete Marvel’s Avengers experience, including all previously released free content, available with Xbox Game Pass for PC, Console, and Cloud on September 30.

“Yep – you read that right. Every player with an Xbox Game Pass membership can experience the full game and all our post-launch Heroes and missions.

“This includes four story campaigns that showcase one or more Hero’s unique abilities, as well as our Avengers Initiative – our evolving online multiplayer world that lets you and three friends play as any Hero in our roster and embark on global adventures.

“Xbox Game Pass members will also have immediate access to our new War for Wakanda expansion, featuring our new playable Hero, Black Panther, and hours of new multiplayer and story content.

“In War for Wakanda, King T’Challa faces his greatest challenge yet when Ulysses Klaue infiltrates Wakanda to steal its precious Vibranium.

“T’Challa won’t be able to defeat his enemy alone; he’ll need to team up with the Avengers and confront his distrust of outsiders if he hopes to protect his kingdom.”
