Pokwang, Venezuelan actor Fernando Carrillo to star in new project

Pokwang and visiting Venezuelan actor Fernando Carrillo of the hit Mexican telenovela “Rosalinda” fame are set to star in an upcoming project, the comedienne announced on Instagram.

Carillo, who is in the country for a series of commercial endorsements and to launch a reality show that aims to create a co-ed singing group. The Latino sensation is also a notable singer in his home country and in the region.

“Ayun na nga!!! New project with Mr. @ferrcarrillo waaaa cant wait!” Pokwang captioned her Instagram post, with the hashtag, FerPok, a combination of her their names.

This early, the two stars seemed to be hitting it off well as shown in the pictures that Pokwang posted.

In one of the photos, Carillo appeared to have swung her around so that she was leaning close to him, while the actor had his arm around her. In another photo, Pokwang’s daughter Malia joined them in the frame, and yet another with some friends.

Pokwang also posted on her Instagram Stories more pictures, including Malia giving Carillo a buss on the cheeks.

Earlier, Carillo said in an interview with Boy Abunda that he used to went on a date with broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez in the past. Sanchez is now married to former Senator and Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, with whom she shared twins, while Carrillo is now married to a woman from Colombia.

Carillo, gained massive popularity in the Philippines after starring with Mexican superstar Thalia as her love interest, Fernando Jose, a man of social stature, in the 1999 telenovela “Rosalinda,”

The hit Mexican drama was then remade in the Philippines in 2009, with Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann taking on the roles of Rosalinda and Fernando Jose, respectively.
