Pokemon Go: Niantic Returns with Third Edition of Festival of Colors Event in India with New Encounters, Raids and More
Developers are known for incorporating real-world events into their titles so that players can enjoy them in the game as well. One of the most common events that are incorporated in the games are festivals, and an upcoming one right now is Holi. Niantic has just announced that they will be celebrating the third iteration of the Festival of Colours in Pokémon Go.
Pokémon Go Festival of Colors 2023
This is the third iteration of Pokémon Go Holi in India and the second iteration globally. This event will also see the debut of two Gnash Teeth Pokémon, Mega Medicham and Bruxish. Moreover, encounters for Durant, Chimecho, Noibat, Jigglypuff, Emolga, Dedenne, Hitmontop, Unown G and Unown O are going to pop along with special research tasks during the event.

Festival of Colors event date and time
Pokémon Go will be hosting the Festival of Colors from March 8, 10 AM IST to March 14, 8 PM IST. Players will find event bonuses such as activation of Lure Modules, fast increase in Friendship level and more. There is also a collection challenge during the event that will net the players 20,000XP and a Lure Module once completed.
Wild Encounters
Furthermore, the wild encounters of Pokémon such as Lickitung, Zigzagoon, Paras, Krabby, Koffing, Natu, Wobbuffet, Shuckle, Wingull, Plant Cloak Burmy, Sand Cloak Burmy, Trash Cloak Burmy, Stunky and Bruxish will have more frequency and the same Pokémon will appear in Raids as well.
Raids
One-Star Raids will have Espurr, Rockruff, Mareanie and Bruxish. Three-star Raids will have Exeggutor, Alolan Exeggutor, Cryogonal and Druddigon. Five-Star raids will have Ho-Oh appearing and Mega Raids will have Mega Medicham.
Field Research
Players will have new field research tasks that will be around the theme of the Festival of Colors. During these tasks, players will be able to encounter Pokémon like, Alolan Grimer, Castform, Sunny Form Castform, Rainy Form Castform, Snowy Form Castform, Plant Cloak Burmy, Sand Cloak Burmy, Trash Cloak Burmy, Baile Style Oricorio, Pom-Pom Style Oricorio, Pa’u Style Oricorio, Sensu Style Oricorio. Additionally, the new avatar ‘Color Toss Pose’ will be available to purchase in the in-game shop during this event.
