Niantic has announced the March 2023 Community Day for Pokemon Go. The virtual meetup events for the upcoming community day will take place on Saturday, March 18 between 2 PM – 5 PM IST in 12 different cities across India. The various venues for the upcoming event include:
- New Delhi: Lodhi Gardens
- Mumbai: Horniman Circle Gardens
- Pune: Saras Baug
- Bengaluru: Statue of Edward VII in Cubbon Park
- Kanpur: Motijheel
- Kolkata: Lions Safari Park in Rabindra Sarobar Lake
- Chennai: Tower Park in Anna Nagar
- Hyderabad: Indira Park
- Lucknow: Lohia Park
- Ahmedabad: Sabarmati Ashram
- Thiruvananthapuram: The Napier Museum
- Visakhapatnam: All Abilities Children Park
The event will revolve around Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke, who will appear a ton more this Saturday. This makes it a great opportunity for trainers to catch the Shiny versions of these Pokemon.
As part of the event, the game will offer 3x XP and 2x Candy for catching Pokemon as a bonus. Moreover, there’s a 2x chance for trainers level 31 and above to receive Candy XL from catching Pokemon. These bonuses will be active between 2 PM – 10 PM IST.
During the event, players can also evolve their Slowpoke or Galarian Slowpoke to get a Slowbro, Galarian Slowbro, Slowking, or Galarian Slowking with a Charged Attack Surf. To evolve these Pokemon, players usually need 30 poison-type Pokemon. However, on Saturday, players will need to catch 30 Psychic-type Pokemon with the Galarian Slowpoke.
Finally, Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke will also be part of four-star raids. Upon completion, players will find more of these characters around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes.
