The medical colleges will be inaugurated are Sirohi, Chittorgarh, Sriganganagar and Dholpur, while foundation stone laying of Jhunjhunu, Baran, Bundi, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk and Jaisalmer medical colleges will take place on the same day on July 27, said a senior medical education department official.

In 2022-23, four new medical colleges started their academic session in Sriganganagar, Chittorgarh, Sirohi and Dholpur. These are the same medical colleges which will be inaugurated by the PM on July 27. “The inauguration of the four medical colleges was scheduled earlier which was to be done by the Prime Minister but it was postponed due to certain reasons,” said Dr Lalit Kumar Raiger, principal and controller, Government Medical College, Sirohi. He said that the academic sessions in the four medical colleges have started in all the medical colleges.
Earlier, the inauguration of all the four medical college was scheduled for October 14, 2022. The medical education department officials and administration of medical colleges are busy to ensure that all the preparations are completed on time. The event will be organized by video-conferencing as it will be done from Sikar.
The new medical colleges in the state will boost medical education. In the state budget, the CM had announced new medical college in three districts in Jalore, Rajsamand and Pratapgarh to ensure that each existing 33 district of the state should have a medical college for better healthcare facilities and for churning out more doctors.
