PlayStation’s New PS5 And PC Game From Assassin’s Creed Boss Revealed
To kick off PlayStation Showcase, Sony announced the first title from Assassin’s Creed boss Jade Raymond’s PlayStation studio, Haven. It’s called Fairgame$, and it looks like a heist-themed multiplayer action game based on the first trailer.
No release date was announced, but Fairgames is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC. It’s a multiplayer live-service title, which means it should launch at the same time across PS5 and PC.
Sony is investing heavily in the live-service market. The company plans to release 12 live-service games over the coming years, and it’s also going to continue to support single-player games.
The formation of Haven was officially announced back in March 2021, and right out of the gate, the studio had already signed a deal with Sony to develop a new and original “AAA” multiplayer IP for PlayStation platforms. “We want to create worlds where players can escape, have fun, express themselves, and find community,” Raymond said. “We want to pour our passion into a project. We want to make something wondrous for people to experience. Because we believe in the power of games to bring joy to people’s lives.”
Just a year later, and Haven was officially welcomed into the PlayStation family after it was formally acquired. PlayStation’s Hermen Hulst said that the company was “inspired by Haven’s vision for creating a modern multiplayer experience that brings gamers together in positive and meaningful ways,” and that it was confident in the studio’s creative and technical expertise to deliver on an ambitious project.
