Piers Morgan’s feud with Lord Sugar takes surprising turn
PIERS Morgan’s feud with Lord Sugar has taken a surprising turn as the Apprentice star offered an “olive branch”.
But not is all as it seems as Lord Sugar hid a thinly veiled jab at his former friend.
The pair have been loggerheads ever since the pandemic – with them both taking various swipes at each other.
Yesterday, Lord Sugar posed with a beer, asking Arsenal-supporting Piers to join him for a drink.
But the beer was called “misfiring gunners IPA” – in a dig at Arsenal’s latest form in the title race.
“Hey Piersy, if you’re passing by, pop in for a beer,” said Lord Sugar.
Piers didn’t take the mocking lying down and replied: “Love to, we can drink to Arsenal being top of the League and 21pts clear of Spurs. Cheers!”
The pair have always thrown endless furious insults at each other on Twitter, but secretly been the best of frenemies nonetheless.
However, during the pandemic, all those years of jokey spats finally boiled over as they went head to head in a very bitter coronavirus feud.
Piers branded his rival a “disgrace” and went as far as to block him on Twitter, while Lord Sugar has accused his “former friend” of “exploiting this pandemic for his own gain”.
It put their long-term friendship under threat with numerous exchanges of public clashes.
Over the past few months the on/off pals have looked to be rebuilding their friendship.
From a luxury holiday together last year, to a heartfelt birthday speech and defending each other when things go too far, they’ve ensured their differences don’t have any lasting impact.
