Piers Morgan demands Boris Johnson’s Honours List ‘be scrapped immediately’
Piers Morgan left no stone unturned in his take down of Boris Johnson as the former PM resigned from parliament as MP with immediate effect on Friday.
Just hours later it was revealed that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak had approved Johnson’s resignation honours list, which included a string of his allies to be given awards like peerages.
The list has been heavily criticised since being published, with Piers bringing the divisive topic to television on his TalkTV show Piers Morgan Uncensored.
On Friday, the 58-year-old brutally slammed the former prime minister, questioning the morals behind giving Johnson the ability to dole out such honours.
He said: “Even though (Boris Johnson) remains the Right Honourable gentlemen, few people have done more to dishonour the high office he held and the country he was supposed to serve.”

Starting off a list of grievances, Piers claimed: “He lied to the Queen and to Parliament. He bungled the pandemic, partying his way through half of it. He spent fortunes on golden wallpaper. He defended his disgraced cronies at every turn.
“He did it all with a care-free gurning grin and a sartorial elegenace of a scarecrow.”
The broadcaster declared it “disgraceful” that Johnson’s list had been allowed to move forward, adding that he doesn’t believe his brief successor Liz Truss should be able to put an honours list forward either.
Piers concluded: “If you resign in shame and disgrace, why should you be able to then hand out honours? Isn’t that one final insult to the public? I think it is.”
Sharing the clip to Twitter, the journalist kept his followers duly updated throughout the evening, tweeting once it was revealed that Johnson had resigned as MP: “The lying shambolic illegal party-boy’s done, over, kaput.”
Having also blasted Donald Trump throughout the day as the criminal charges in the former US president’s indictment were revealed, Piers shared a snap of Johnson and Trump sitting side-by-side while both were in power.
He captioned the photo: “Not a good day for blond fork-tongued male politicians who always blame everyone but themselves for their own self-harming actions.”
In one final declaration for the evening, Piers fumed: “Boris Johnson’s honours list must be scrapped with immediate effect.”
