Phillip Schofield blasts ‘same old loud voices’ as he denies ‘toxicity’ claims

Phillip Schofield has taken to Instagram to hit out at “loud voices” who have blasted him and This Morning for its “toxicity”.

The former ITV host has said he has “noticed” in recent days that it is the “same handful of people” with a “grudge” against him and the show.

In a post on Instagram, Schofield wrote: “Now I no longer work on @thismorning I am free to say this.

“I hope you have noticed that it’s the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice.

“This morning IS the best show to work on, with the best people. In all the years I worked there there was no toxicity.

“You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like.

“But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew, hundreds of presenters and contributors all know, it IS a family of wonderful, talented, kind and hardworking people.”

In recent weeks Phillip has come under intense scrutiny for his relationship with co-host Holly Willoughby and his conduct off camera.

On Friday the picture-perfect image of This Morning came crashing down as Phillip admitted to having an affair with a much younger male colleague while he was still married.

Phillip shared the bombshell after he announced that he is stepping away from ITV for good.

Meanwhile, Eamonn Holmes – who worked on This Morning for 15 years – claimed at least four members of the senior management team at the channel knew about the scandal and “never once” took action.

He also claimed 61-year-old Schofield “took advantage of his position” over young people.

Holmes tweeted: “Schofield has finally been caught out. But he’s not the only guilty party.

“Four high members of ITV management knew what sort of man he was and NEVER once took action to prevent him controlling or taking advantage of his position over young people.”

Yesterday former This Morning mainstay Dr Ranj Singh accused the programme of having a “toxic culture”.

The health expert, who appeared on the daytime TV show for 10 years, said he was “increasingly worried” about things that were happening on the programme and how people were being treated.

He claims that after he raised these concerns with top bosses at ITV he was “managed out” and has not appeared on This Morning since then.
