People are just realizing iPhone has iMessage button that changes how you text
IPHONE users have been informed of a hidden iMessage trick that can help them text more efficiently.
Being able to send scheduled (or automated) messages is highly convenient.
For example, automating texts can help you seamlessly send a recurring message to colleagues at work.
Or you can pre-schedule happy birthday texts to the most important people in your life to help you not forget.
Apple’s iOS software, however, doesn’t directly support scheduling messages in the same way that your email account might.
Still, iPhone users are able to get around this by cleverly using iOS’ built-in settings.
The hack predominately utilizes Apple’s “Shortcuts”, which help users quickly get one or more tasks done via apps.
Below we outline the steps you need to take to help you send scheduled texts.
HOW TO SCHEDULE MESSAGES
First, you need to head to your Shortcuts App, which you can find on your home screen or by searching for it.
Once you have opened that up, tap on the Automation Menu.
Select Create Personal Automation if this is your first time using the app.
Otherwise, simply tap on the plus (+) sign and select Create Personal Automation.
Next, you will want to tap on the Time of Day option and input your desired time for your scheduled text message
You can customize the hour and adjust the date for the message using daily, weekly, and monthly options.
From here, tap on Next, and then add an action on the next menu.
Select Send Message option and then tap on Next.
Now, craft the message you want to send and select the recipient(s) from your contacts > tap Next.
If you’re content with the automation and message, confirm it by tapping the Done button.
As a precaution, you toggle on Ask Before Running on the final screen of setup to pre-approve a message before it goes out.
