Pension benefit calculator – check eligibility for over 30 benefits and boost your income
With a wide range of benefits potentially available to older Britons, it can be difficult to know what someone is entitled to. Fortunately, a helpful online tool could provide the answers people need.
Age UK offers a free to use benefits calculator which could help older people find out what they are entitled to.
The calculator can be found on the Age UK website and any information provided by the user is kept anonymous.
Which benefits does it check?
There is a long list of benefits which the calculator can provide information on.

- Employment and Support Allowance (contribution-based and income-related)

- Jobseeker’s Allowance (contribution-based and income-related)

Which regions are covered?
The calculator covers England, Scotland and Wales.
How does it work?
Users must give information about their circumstances in order to find out what they may be entitled to.
This includes where they live, if they are single or in a couple, and if they have caring responsibilities.
However, the calculator is accompanied by a disclaimer which states it merely provides an estimate to help people figure out what they could claim. It does not guarantee eligibility for any benefits.
Anyone wishing to speak to someone over the phone regarding their potential benefits can call Age UK’s support line on 0800 055 6112.
