Pedestrian killed and man fighting for life after North Circular BMW crash

A pedestrian has been killed in a crash on the eastbound A406 in Neasden, while another man is fighting for his life in hospital. Police were called at 9.48pm last night (Friday, March 12) to a car in collision with a pedestrian and then a house.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Met are trying to trace his family, whom they believe are overseas.

Emergency services rushed a passenger in the car, a man aged in his 50s, to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has also been taken to hospital, where his condition is not life-threatening.

The car, a white BMW, crashed into a house, causing significant structural damage. Lane closures remain in place on the A406 as work continues to remove the car and ensure the building is safe.

The A406 North Circular Northbound is currently closed, according to Inrix traffic management system, leading to queuing traffic from the B4557, Drury Way (Ikea), to the A4088 (Neasden Interchange). It added that there is congestion to Stonebridge and bus routes 112, 232 and 332 are on diversion.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating. Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage are asked to call them on 020 8246 9820, ref 7729/11mar.
