Long-time Sharks fans have noted a definite resemblance between the style of in-form fullback Will Kennedy and club legend David Peachey.
Kennedy has revealed to Wide World of Sports that the similarities between the two elusive Indigenous stars are more than just co-incidence.
“Everyone at Cronulla told me about ‘The Peach’ when I got here so naturally I was curious about him,” Kennedy said.

“I am too young to have watched him play live but I have seen plenty of him on old videos.
“I loved the way he just glided across the field and used his pace to suddenly burst through a hole.
“I’ve tried to play a similar style and it’s a massive compliment to me that people even compare us.

“He had an amazing career and is a real Sharks legend.”
The 26-year-old Kennedy is playing his best football under Craig Fitzgibbon in 2023.
“Fitzy is telling me to back my confidence and enjoy myself and that’s what I try to do,” he said.
“It’s great having Ronaldo (Mulitalo) and Sione (Katoa) with me in the back three.
“They are both great attacking players with real speed and we all came through the grades at Newtown together so we have a real bond.”

Kennedy was born into football – his dad Will Senior played over 50 games for the Tigers in the centres in the 1990s.
“He was a pretty handy player they tell me and he’s back in Bathurst now working as a handyman,” Will said.
