MANILA, Philippines—Pauline Amelinckx is now a step away from clinching the Miss Supranational crown after making it as one of the final five delegates in the global tilt now taking place at the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater in Nowy Sacz, Poland.

Joining her in the final round of the competition are the delegates from Vietnam, Ecuador. United Kingdom, and Brazil.

The five ladies were chosen from a field of 12 semifinalists who all underwent a speech round, where they each delivered messages in under 20 seconds. They also paraded in evening gowns during a tribute to the late American singer Tina Turner.

In her speech, Amelnickx said, “I am a ‘three-peater’ in my national pageant, but I stand here with dedication and commitment. Being body shamed only taught me the value of my voice, and the importance of keeping it kind. And this same voice, I will use to raise our stories of struggle and strength, so others can, too.”

After the speech round with the Top 12 delegates, the international pageant organization also handed out its first-ever “Icon Award” to 2016 Miss Supranational Srinidhi Shetty, the second Indian woman to win the crown.

“I am speechless. I’m really speechless. All I can say is, my heart is full of gratitude, so much that it’s bursting, it’s actually aching. Thank you so much,” she said.

Shetty also addressed the 2023 Miss Supranational candidates, and said, “to all the beautiful ladies, just have fun, enjoy. Like we always say, it is truly an experience. Just have fun.”

Amelinckx is attempting a second Miss Supranational victory for the Philippines, after Mutya Johanna Datul became the first Filipino woman to win the crown 10 years ago in 2013.

The Belgian-Filipino model and host from Bohol was crowned Miss Supranational Philippines after her third attempt at the Miss Universe Philippines pageant. She finished in the Top 3 of the national pageant held in May.

Reigning queen Lalela Mswane, the first winner from South Africa, will relinquish her title to her successor at the culmination of the 2023 Miss Supranational pageant, the global titl’s 14th edition.

The Poland-based international pageant is seeking women who are “aspirational” and “inspirational.” This year’s competition gathered 65 delegates from different countries and territories.
