Paul Hollywood ‘engaged’ to landlady girlfriend after marriage split

The Great British Bake Off star Paul Hollywood, 56, has been in a relationship with landlady Melissa Spalding, 38, for the last three years, with it now being reported of the pair’s engagement. Paul was married to his ex-wife Alexandra for 19 years but they announced their split in 2017 over cheating allegations.

Paul and Melissa have kept their relationship out of the public eye, making the odd red-carpet appearance together.

However, a source close to the pair revealed: “Paul proposed some months ago, but they have been keeping it very quiet since then.

“It’s only in the past month that she has begun wearing her engagement ring out in public and sharing their news with friends.

“There are no wedding plans in place yet”, the source concluded to The Sun.

Express.co.uk has contacted Paul Hollywood’s representatives for comment.

During an interview with Platinum Magazine, Paul said: “I was in a really dark place. I didn’t want to carry on at one point.

“Most of what was being said was a lie or a twisted truth. The truth was very different to what the tabloids were writing.

“The press intrusion can be such a horrible thing to deal with, and it isn’t fair, because there’s no right to reply.”

He continued: “I’ve withdrawn a lot in the last six years and I’m happiest at home, just putting on my slippers and dressing gown in front of the telly.
