MANILA, Philippines — Patricia Javier paid a recent visit to Japan for the coronation program of Respect: Noble Queen of the Universe which was held at the Tokyo Prince Hotel in Tokyo on Dec. 29. But that was not the only activity she attended in the “Land of the Rising Sun.”

The actress-singer, who is concurrently the national director for the Philippines and international director of the Noble Queen of the Universe Ltd. Inc. (NQULI), also took part in a charity event conducted by the Mrs. Tourism Ambassador International Japan pageant.

After overseeing the coronation program of her own organization, Javier went to Yoyogi Park in Tokyo to help organizers of the national pageant in Japan in distributing goods to the homeless and the needy in the Japanese capital.

Japan-based Filipino beauty titlist Myla Villagonzalo-Tsutaichi, who was crowned Mrs. Tourism Ambassador International in Malaysia in 2020, joined Javier and some of the national pageant’s candidates at the park located in the bustling ward of Shibuya before the end of the year.

Javier’s NQULI bestowed a special title to Tsutaichi at the Dec. 29 coronation program as one of the organization’s guests of honor. She received the “Most Prominent Women Empowerment” award in the event.

Former Tacloban City Mayor Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez was crowned Noble Queen of the Universe in the Tokyo event, where she represented the Visayas. Two more Filipino representatives also received titles — Noble Queen International Leira Buan who represented Mindanao, and Noble Queen Earth Sheralene Shirata who represented Luzon.

Tsutaichi, meanwhile, organized the Mrs. Tourism Ambassador International pageant in 2022, and is set to hold its first-ever competition on her birthday on Feb. 19 in Tokyo.

She represented Japan in her global competition in 2020, and is now the official licensee for Japan of the international organization that crowned her, tasked to send candidates for the 2023 contest in Malaysia.

Her national pageant will have a total of five queens — Mrs. Tourism Ambassador International Japan, Mrs. Universe (Official) Japan, Mrs. Tourism Ambassador International Philippines-Japan, Mrs. Universe (Official) Philippines-Japan, and Mrs. Model Mom Japan—who will compete in different global tilts.

Tsutaichi told the Inquirer in an earlier interview that the Mrs. Tourism Ambassador International Japan pageant will serve as a platform for mothers to show “how they give hope, love, and light to the world,” and to make their dreams come true “through action and determination.”

She also opened her pageant to transgender women in Japan because “I want to give them the opportunity to uplift themselves, something that was deprived of them. I thought now is the time to honor them and for society to also value them.” EDV
