A pastel loving mum is set to spend another £190,000 on her pink-filled home, in order to ‘eradicate all elements that are black, grey or beige’.

Sophia Ferrari-Wills, 35, lives in a 1960s cottage that she bought in late 2019, with husband Chris, 42, and began transforming it into a pastel pink paradise.

After years of DIY, the unique family home has a mermaid bathroom, forest playroom, ice cream office and treehouse, which cost around £10,000.

Currently nearly all the rooms are candy coloured and now the mum-of-two is splashing out a final £190,000 to ensure every inch of her home is on theme.

The final renovations will centre in the kitchen – the beige tiled floors are to be replaced with a pink alternative.

The orangery is also going to be converted, extended and decorated in pastels, of course, with everything from the doors to the taps being transformed.

Sophia, a content creator, and mum to Clemmie, four and Minnie, two, said she wants her home to feel like a pastel coloured ‘open hug’.

After buying their cottage in 2019, Sophia and husband Chris, a sales manager, started their pastel passion project.

And, during lockdown, Sophia began sharing their progress online.

She gained so many followers that she was able to leave her full-time job as a midwife in April 2021, to pursue interior influencing.

And her home is quite the sight to behold.

In the hallway, the walls are green with pink shutters, accessorised with a wavy mirror and side table.

The large living room has strawberry-themed wallpaper and calamine pink walls, with a yellow corner sofa and another baby pink sofa.

It also has a statement gallery wall with neon lights, a pink log burner and yellow scallop detail around the fireplace.

The downstairs toilet is mermaid-themed while the playroom is forest-themed – with the rooms upstairs much in keeping with the pastel theme too.

Currently the kitchen is painted lilac, with scallop edges, pink tiles and pink appliances – but Sophia isn’t done with it yet.

‘We’re doing everything I’ve always wanted to do,’ said Sophia.

‘I’ve always felt held back by the kitchen’s current style so we’re having an extension and walls knocked down.

‘We still want it to be in keeping with the cottage, but with a contemporary twist.’

And Sophia will be transforming the place herself.

She said: ‘I’ll be doing all the decorating myself after the building work – then it’ll be my dream home.

‘There’s talk of pink aluminum windows and a unique style of kitchen island with pastel details and pretty pastel pink tiles – there are loads of details I am planning.’

An orangery will be knocked down and turned into an open kitchen and living space, with utility room, pantry, snug and open kitchen and living space, which will cost £130,000

‘Of course, with the decoration, we’re doing for maximum pastel impact,’ said Sophia.
