Passengers go viral for impromptu gig on flight – but not everyone’s convinced

A GROUP of musicians has gone viral after playing their instruments on a flight – but people are divided.

Footage emerged online of violinists, flautists, and accordionists performing Irish folk music on a flight from Dublin to New York.

The video, which was shared by Evan Kirstel on Twitter, has had more than 1.2 million views on the social media platform.

In the video, there appeared to be a handful of passengers standing up in their seats playing violins, flutes, and accordions on the Aer Lingus flight.

While their performance seemed to bring joy to their fellow passengers, opinions shared online were much more divisive.

Aer Lingus wrote: “Loving the extra in-flight entertainment.”

Meanwhile, another person added: “Too cool!”

A third said: “I’m delighted that those folks brought their own in-flight entertainment, and the rest of the passengers seem to like it, too.”

Despite the positivity, there were many users who weren’t happy about the spontaneous performance.

Someone commented: “Some might think it is great but to assume everyone wants to hear you play is obnoxious.”

A second person added: “I hope passengers got refunds for having to put up with that.”

And another user chimed in with: “It’s all well and good, but some people want to get on the plane and relax.”

This isn’t the first time passengers have put on a spontaneous show on a plane.

Last year, a choir went viral after performing a song during a flight.

Instead of receiving positive praise online, no one seemed happy about Stellenbosch University Choir giving passengers a mid-flight performance of the song Weeping by Bright Blue.

Members of the choir accounted for a large number of passengers on board the plane and all of them joined in and sang in harmony while their leaders stood up in the aisle and conducts.

While their act might’ve brought joy to their fellow passengers, one person simply said: “This is my nightmare.”

One Ryanair flight attendant once treated passengers to a rendition of Despacito, which he sang over the plane’s PA system.

Meanwhile, an AirAsia cabin crew member was filmed performing the dance from the video for Britney Spears’ Toxic on a plane.
