Passenger reveals how she packs a week’s worth of items in Ryanair hand luggage

A RYANAIR passenger has revealed how she fit a week’s worth of luggage into a handbag to avoid paying extra fees.

Trying to squeeze everything needed for a holiday within a strict hand luggage allowance can be challenging, but there are some people with effective methods.

Tiktoker Sarah Stratford (@wealthyoptimist) is one of them – with her packing skills finely tuned.

In a video, she showed how she was able to fit everything she needed, and even some things she didn’t, into a handbag, which easily fit in the Ryanair luggage size checker.

She did it through clever folding, but mainly also by using a compact compression case for her clothes.

In her bag was a cuddly toy called Ezekiel, a wallet, two toiletries bags, a book, her passport, a love letter from her boyfriend and sunglasses in a case.

She also had a smaller purse, an eye mask, chargers and a pair of sandals – before she’d even got to her clothes.

While showing them, she said: “This is all my clothes. A week’s worth of clothes into a compact compression case.

“Look at how many clothes I was able to fit.

“Two bathing suits, spanx for underneath dresses for when we get dressed up, sock sand underwear, pyjama pants, one sundress, two dressier type tops.

“T-shirts, another sundress, another cute sundress, and yet another cute sundress.

“TADA! That all fits in there. So if you’re ever trying to fly on Ryanair, that’s all you need.

“I have fit a week’s worth of travel into this one compact, tiny bag and didn’t have to pay any extra baggage fees. Nothing.”

Sarah then revealed the bag that held all of her luggage was the Le Pilage, large, longchamp handbag.

She urged: “If you can find one, invest in one.

“It is the best travel bag ever. And it fits under those Ryanair tiny little seats as a handbag.”

The bags are available from around £110, although similar bags are available for much less, including the House of Bruar large nylon tote bag, which is available from £14.99.

Another holidaymaker, Lauren Caulfield (@laurencaulfield_) uses a certain backpack to avoid having to pay for more luggage whenever she flies.

She shared a video on Tiktok, revealing how she was able to squeeze in everything she needed for a five-day trip.

Lauren’s bag is the SZLX travel backpack, which other people have raved about elsewhere before.

The bag is available from £29.99 on Amazon and comes in three different sizes, depending on how big a laptop compartment you need.
