Partner Content | Patriots vs. Packers Week 4 picks and odds: Count on the Packers at Lambeau
After losing starting quarterback Mac Jones to an ankle injury the New England Patriots travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers.
The pregame narrative: The Packers are likely to take care of business as heavy favourites — as they did in Week 2 against the Bears. A.J. Dillion should benefit from a positive game script, and Brian Hoyer seems unlikely to connect on a deep ball.

Patriots vs. Packers Week 4 picks
Best Bet : Packers -9
Although this is a sizeable spread, it’s reasonable to expect the Packers to cover at Lambeau against a weak opponent.
The Patriots have a win under their belt against the lowly Pittsburgh Steelers, but they’re 1-2 with a -21 point differential. New England can run the ball behind Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson, and it has the ability to slow down opposing passing attacks — holding them to 200 yards per game thus far.
That’s about it.
The team can’t move the ball through the air effectively, and turning to 36-year-old Brian Hoyer isn’t likely to improve matters. New England also struggles to defend against the run, which is likely to be an issue against a Packers team that can pound the rock with Dillon and Aaron Jones.
The setting of Lambeau Field is crucial to Green Bay’s chances of covering as they’ve been dominant there lately. The Packers have won their last nine regular-season games at home by a combined score of 248-144.
Just two of those victories came by a single-digit margin.
Key stat: Hoyer has lost his last 11 starts going back to October 9, 2016.
Quick picks
Dillon anytime touchdown (+123): In a game where the Packers figure to be leading, the team’s human battering ram is likely to get plenty of looks.
The 247-pound running back has played more than half of Green Bay’s offensive snaps in each game and looks to be a weapon against a Patriots defence that allows 4.8 yards per rush.
Hoyer’s longest completed pass under 33.5 yards (-114): So much has changed with the Patriots’ offence since Hoyer last drew a start that he’s a hard player to project statistically.
Even so, he could struggle with a stingy Packers secondary that allows fewer than 200 yards per game. Hoyer completed a 48-yard pass last season, but it came on a short crossing route.
Between 2019-2020 he didn’t crack 25 yards on any pass in 89 attempts.
