Partner Content | NBA prop picks March 3: Bet on Tatum’s assist total
We’ve got a loaded 10-game NBA slate to kickstart the weekend and three prop picks to accompany it.
The pregame narrative: Jayson Tatum has been moving the ball since the all-star break and we’re backing him to clear tonight’s modest assist total. We’re also taking Gordon Hayward to hit a pair of threes and Kevin Durant to fill the bucket.

NBA prop picks
Best Bet : Tatum over 5.5 assists (-103)
Tatum is a bucket-getter — his 30.3 points per game ranks sixth in the NBA — but we’re turning elsewhere for tonight’s best bet.
The 24-year-old small forward has recorded six-plus assists in each of Boston’s four games since the all-star break, averaging 7.5 helpers in that span. He’s coming off back-to-back performances with eight or more assists and has cleared this mark in seven of his last 10 games.
So what’s the hitch?
Well, Tatum has played the Brooklyn Nets three times this season and hasn’t cleared this line once. But that was a different team. A busy deadline which saw the departures of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving has Brooklyn in a free fall.
The Nets have lost eight of their past 10 games dating back to February 6 and have had the third-worst defensive rating (120.6) in that span. They’ve also conceded an average of 26.7 assists over the past three-game segment (ninth-worst in NBA).
Let’s roll with Tatum to get six or more assists at home.
Key stat: Tatum has cleared this mark in five straight games.
Quick picks
Hayward over 1.5 threes (+100) : With LaMelo Ball sidelined the Charlotte Hornets are going to need other players to hoist some threes.
Hayward made three 3-pointers in his last outing on eight attempts — which were his most all season. We’re expecting the veteran small forward to keep cooking tonight.
He’ll be suiting up against an Orlando Magic team that allows the third-most 3-pointers per game (13.1).
Durant over 22.5 points (-121) : Durant played just 27 minutes in his Phoenix Suns debut but still cleared this line after shooting a remarkably efficient 10 of 15 from the floor.
We’re expecting the Slim Reaper to glide past this total tonight.
Durant is averaging 29.5 points this season and has cleared this line in 36 of 40 games this season. He is on a minute restriction but we’re still happy to back KD in this spot.
