Partner Content | MLB parlay picks March 31: Bet on bounce back from Dodgers’ Muncy

We’re just looking for a few hits on Friday.

The pregame narrative: Manny Machado is very familiar with the pitcher he’s facing, and it’s a matchup he can certainly take advantage of. After an ugly day for Max Muncy at the dish, we’re expecting better results. Lastly, Amed Rosario is a strong pick to get on base against the Seattle Mariners.

Check out our MLB parlay picks for March 31.

MLB odds as of 12:23 a.m. ET on 03/31/23.

MLB parlay picks

Parlay: Machado over 0.5 hits + Muncy over 0.5 hits + Rosario over 0.5 hits (+234)

Machado over 0.5 hits (-230) : It wasn’t a great Opening Day for the San Diego Padres as they lost 7-2 to the Colorado Rockies. Still, it wasn’t a horrible day for Machado.

The talented third baseman went 1-for-3 in the contest, driving home a run with an RBI single in the loss. He’ll get to see Rockies starter Kyle Freeland on Friday, however, and that’s a matchup that favours Machado.

The two have squared off 43 times, with Machado recording 12 hits and five walks against the lefty. He’s not just smacking singles off of Freeland, either, as half of his hits have gone for extra bases.

Freeland’s career 1.407 WHIP and .270 opposing batting average per FanGraphs illustrate his struggles at keeping runners off the base paths.

Other parlay picks

Muncy over 0.5 hits (-148) : Forget the Golden Sombrero, Muncy was walking home with a Platinum Sombrero on Thursday night.

The Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman struck out five times in five plate appearances against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Fortunately for him, his team scored eight runs in a winning effort, but still, that’s about as bad as it gets at the dish.

Fortunately, there’s always tomorrow in baseball, and Muncy has a prime opportunity to redeem himself.

Merrill Kelly takes the mound for Arizona, and these two have some history. Muncy is slashing .423/.483/.654 in 29 plate appearances against the righty with one home run and four extra-base hits.

Rosario over 0.5 hits (-265) : Rosario was fairly quiet on Opening Day, but that sentiment extends to every member of the Cleveland Guardians’ lineup.

Seattle Mariners ace Luis Castillo spent his day mowing down Cleveland’s lineup, ceding just one hit while striking out six across six innings of work. Even on a day when the Guardians couldn’t generate much of anything, Rosario was able to register a hit.

That matchup is much more favourable on Friday as Robbie Ray takes the bump for Seattle. Rosario has dominated the lefty in limited appearances, smacking five hits (including three doubles) in 10 at-bats against Ray.
