Partner Content | Game 7 Rangers vs. Hurricanes picks: Bet on New York to finally win on the road

The New York Rangers won Game 6 at home sending their series against the Carolina Hurricanes to an all-deciding Game 7.

The pregame narrative: Home-ice advantage in the Eastern Conference final awaits the winner of Monday night’s game. The benefits of being at home have been on full display in this series as neither squad has pulled off a road win. A win for the Hurricanes would mark the second straight series it advanced without winning on the road. Conversely, a victory for the Rangers would mark the second consecutive time it moved on while winning multiple elimination games.

Check out our Game 7 Rangers vs. Hurricanes picks for May 30.

Rangers vs. Hurricanes picks overview

  • Rangers moneyline (+123)
  • Rangers over 2.5 goals (+102)
  • Both teams to score 2 goals – Yes (-121)

Rangers vs. Hurricanes picks

Best bet: Rangers moneyline (+123)

Antti Raanta may be starting to crack at the absolute worst time for the Hurricanes.

Carolina’s backup netminder who’s been thrust into the starting role due to Frederik Andersen’s lingering lower-body injury was pulled after allowing three goals on 13 shots in Game 6. It was his second rough outing over his last three games and it’s worth wondering if the heavy workload is starting to catch up to him.

Raanta’s posted a respectable .924 save percentage this postseason, but hasn’t been as sharp of late. The 33-year-old has churned out a troublesome .862 save percentage over his last three starts. Volume is a legitimate concern for Raanta as he’s only started more than 40 games in a season once in his nine-year career — and Game 7 will be his 13th start in the month of May. He’s never started that many games over a calendar month.

Additionally, the Rangers actually haven’t played terribly on the road in this series. New York has held the 5v5 expected goals advantage in two of the three games at PNC Arena, according to Natural Stat Trick.

We’re backing the Blueshirts to snap Carolina’s undefeated record at home in Game 7.

Key stat: New York is 4-0 in elimination games during this postseason, and 7-1 in its last eight Game 7s.

Quick picks

Rangers over 2.5 goals (+102): If you’re backing the Rangers to win on the moneyline, adding this bet to your card isn’t a bad idea. New York has not won a game during these playoffs without scoring three goals or more. The Rangers have combined for 19 goals in their four elimination games during the 2022 postseason.

Both teams to score 2 goals – Yes (-121): This happened for just the first time in this series in Game 6 and we’re expecting a repeat on Monday. Carolina has scored at least two goals in all three of their home games against New York and with Raanta starting to slip, the Rangers should have some continued offensive success.

Odds as of 12:17 p.m. ET on 05/29/2022.
