Partner Content | Blue Jays vs. Rangers picks and odds: Behind Jon Gray, bet on Texas to win
The Toronto Blue Jays can secure a series win over the AL West-leading Texas Rangers in Sunday’s series finale.
The pregame narrative: Chris Bassitt battles Jon Gray in the rubber match before Toronto heads southeast for its next road series (in Miami). Both starters have had several moments of brilliance this year, though recently most of those belong to Gray. We’re taking the Rangers and the under.

Blue Jays vs. Rangers picks
Best Bet : Rangers moneyline (-124)
A simple moneyline pick in the Rangers’ favour was our best bet yesterday, and we’re running it back in hopes of similar success.
With Gray on the mound, Texas has been in terrific shape all season. And though his efforts didn’t translate to many wins in April, the results in the win column have turned around since then.
In Gray’s seven starts since the beginning of last month, Texas is 6-1 with a plus-25 run differential. The right-hander has fashioned a 1.49 ERA and a .521 opponent OPS in that span.
Bassitt has had his share of stellar outings, but he’s been much more prone to blowing up. Over his past seven starts, three have been scoreless and three have included six or more runs allowed.
The home/road splits for Bassitt really stand out, too. At home (six starts), he has a 2.18 ERA and .447 opponent OPS. On the road (eight starts), he has a 5.77 ERA and .913 OPS.
With a 3-7 record over their past 10 games, the Rangers haven’t been playing top-notch baseball lately. But at home, this is a good spot to back one of MLB’s most talented clubs.
Key stat: Texas is 23-13 at home this season.
Quick pick
Under 9 runs (-122) : We’ve only seen nine total runs scored through two games in this series, and today’s pitching matchup makes another under look desirable.
Their sample sizes are limited, but both starters have fared well against their respective opponents in the past. Bassitt has held the Rangers’ lineup to a .122 batting average in 49 at-bats, per Baseball Savant, while Gray has held the Jays to a .194 BA in 36 at-bats.
This under is 8-3 in Toronto’s past 11 games.
