Partner Content | Blackhawks vs. Maple Leafs same-game parlay picks: Back Toronto in Auston Matthews’ return
The Toronto Maple Leafs are hefty favourites tonight against the bottom-feeding Chicago Blackhawks.
The pregame narrative: Auston Matthews is eyeing a return to the lineup and we’re expecting him to waste no time finding the score sheet. We’re also backing the Leafs to win in regulation and are taking the over on an adjusted goal total.

Blackhawks vs. Maple Leafs same-game parlay
Parlay: Maple Leafs 60-minute ML + Over 5.5 goals + Matthews to score (+175)
Leafs 60-minute moneyline (-278) : The Leafs are massive -500 favourites to win tonight, so we’ll try and shave a little bit of that juice off by backing Toronto to win in regulation.
That shouldn’t be too much to ask considering Chicago is one of the worst teams in the NHL. The Blackhawks have a 16-31-5 record, meaning they’ve lost 59.6% of all games in regulation.
They’ve also lost four of their past five games in regulation, including last night’s 5-0 defeat to the Montreal Canadiens.
The Leafs have been rock-solid at home this season. Toronto has a 20-6-4 record at Scotiabank Arena and won 16 of those games in regulation.
Toronto is also going up against an old friend — though we’re not sure Leafs fans would call him that — in Petr Mrazek.
The goaltender’s tenure in Toronto was a disaster and he hasn’t fared much better in Chicago. Mrazek ranks 52nd in goals against average (3.95) and 49th in save percentage (.885).
Other parlay legs
Over 5.5 goals in regulation (-182) : When these teams play, goals are sure to follow. The Leafs and Blackhawks have gone over the total in five of their past six meetings with an average of 8.83 goals being scored in those contests.
We’re buying one goal off tonight’s 6.5-goal total out of an abundance of caution but this game should fly over.
Four of Toronto’s last five games have had six-plus goals scored.
Matthews to score (-159) : This game has Matthews goal written all over it.
The reigning Hart Trophy winner has about the easiest opponent available for his return to action and that should translate to the lamp being lit at least once.
Matthews scored goals in five of seven games prior to his knee injury and has netted 16 of his 25 goals at Scotiabank Arena.
The Blackhawks have also allowed the ninth-most high-danger chances against this season (553), according to Natural Stat Trick.
