The Argos are on the road in Week 19, but playing at Commonwealth Stadium has been anything but an advantage for the Elks this season.

Edmonton’s horrendous 0-7 home record is matched only by the Ottawa Redblacks, who are also winless in seven tries at home. If the Elks could even find a way to be half-decent at home, they’d be sitting in a playoff spot. Instead, they’re two games back and likely headed for an early offseason.

Edmonton hasn’t even been competitive at home, either. It’s lost every contest by a minimum of seven points and owns a league-worst minus-120 point differential.

Outside of a 29-2 loss to the Calgary Stampeders in their most recent road game, the Argonauts have largely been playing better football away from BMO Field. Toronto had won three consecutive away contests — by an average margin of 18.3 points — before that loss to the Stamps.

The Argos are a pedestrian 4-3 on the road this season, but even pedestrian is better than what Edmonton’s shown as a host.

Key stat: The Elks rank last in the CFL in both points per game (19.8) and points against per game (33.8).

Under 50.5 points (-110): The Argos have gone under this total in four of their last five games, and we like that trend to continue in Week 19.

The under has also come through in four of Edmonton’s seven home outings, including two of the last three. Considering the Elks are averaging the fewest points per game at home this year (17.0), we’d likely require a significant amount of scoring from Toronto to get this over a pretty high number.

Argonauts and under 50.5 points (+165): We’ve explained our reasons for liking the Argonauts to topple the Elks, but betting them on the moneyline (-240) doesn’t provide the value we’re looking for.

Coupling that bet with a wager on the under gives us some nice plus-money odds. The under on this total has hit in three of Toronto’s last four wins.
