Alcaraz vs. Tsitsipas French Open picks
Best Bet : Over 3.5 sets (-130)
Alcaraz is looking extremely sharp at Roland Garros, but so is Tsitsipas.
Tsitsipas has lost just one set at the tournament, entering this contest with 10 consecutive set wins. His latest match was his cleanest performance, as he defeated Austria’s Sebastian Ofner while committing just 12 unforced errors and firing home 27 winners.
His serve has been dominant lately, as Tsitsipas won 92% and 93% of his service games in his last two matches over Diego Schwartzman and Ofner, respectively.
It’s an important trend to note because Tsitsipas stands no chance if he can’t win on his serve against Alcaraz, who’s won more than 50% of his return games in three of four matches at the French Open.
Tsitsipas is a very talented player and owns a 17-4 record on clay this year. This isn’t asking much of someone who’s capable of going toe-to-toe with anybody on tour.
Key stat: These two have met at one Grand Slam event before (U.S. Open, 2021), and that match needed five sets.
Quick pick
Alcaraz over 20.5 games won (+104) : Since we’re expecting this match to need four sets or more, this is a logical wager to make.
Alcaraz, who’s a -480 favourite in this match, needs to win a minimum of 18 games to be victorious. Obviously, if Tsitsipas is able to steal a set, the chances of him going over this number are very high.
Alcaraz would need to win a minimum of three games in a losing set, and that seems highly likely as he has won at least three games in all 13 sets at Roland Garros.
The chances of this wager cashing also increase if Tsitsipas is able to force a fifth set, which we’re not ruling out of the equation.
