Partner Content | Alcaraz vs. Berrettini Wimbledon odds and best bet: Pick underdog Italian to cover

Carlos Alcaraz’s run at Wimbledon meets its toughest challenge yet in Matteo Berrettini.

The pregame narrative: Berrettini is turning back the clock at Wimbledon and we’re betting on him in this match. While we’re stopping short of picking him to win at +210 odds, we’ll gladly back him plus a set against Alcaraz.

Check out our Alcaraz vs. Berrettini odds and best bet for the fourth-round Wimbledon match.

Alcaraz vs. Berrettini Wimbledon odds and best bet

Best Bet : Berrettini +1.5 sets (-110)

Injuries have plagued Berrettini for most of this past year, but he’s back to playing the kind of tennis we expect from someone of his calibre.

Playing just one match on grass this year before Wimbledon — a loss to Lorenzo Sonego at Stuttgart — expectations of a long run at the All England Club seemed like a long shot. After all, injuries also cost him an appearance at last year’s tournament.

Flash forward to now and the Italian has dropped just one set through three matches and has the look of a legitimate contender.

Berrettini’s best weapon, his untouchable serve, is mowing down the opposition. He has 45 aces through three matches to just nine double faults. Berrettini has won all 54 of his return games, too.

Alcaraz has been equally as impressive, also losing just one set at Wimbledon. You won’t find many holes in his game, but beating Berrettini on his serve is a difficult ask for any opponent.

These two have only met once at a Grand Slam — last year’s Australian Open — and Berrettini outlasted Alcaraz in a five-set victory.

We’re not saying Alcaraz can’t win this match and this wager doesn’t require him to lose. But a five-set thriller is certainly a possibility and we’d like to watch a potential fifth set already knowing our bet has cashed.

Key stat: Berrettini is a former runner-up at Wimbledon and is 35-4 on grass since 2019.
