Paris Saint-Germain join Chelsea in race to sign Leicester star Wesley Fofana

Paris Saint-Germain are considering a move to rival Chelsea for Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana, according to reports in France.

The 24-year-old is a priority target for the Blues but Leicester have rejected two bids from Chelsea for the centre-back.

The Foxes are reluctant to let Fofana leave and they’re demanding in excess of £85m for the defender.

Fofana, though, has made it clear that he would like to join Chelsea if a fee can be agreed.

However, Le Parisian say that PSG are now considering a move for Fofana after being surprised that Leicester would listen to offers.

The Ligue 1 giants are looking to freshen up their defence and they had considered allowing Presnel Kimpembe to join Chelsea earlier in the window.

Chelsea are expected to test Leicester’s resolve with a third bid for Fofana, that should get far closer to the Foxes’ valuation of the defender.

The Blues kept a clean sheet as they got their season off to a winning start with a 1-0 win against Everton on Saturday.

Kalidou Koulibaly played on the left of a back three with Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpliecuta making up the rest of the backline.

Nevertheless, Thomas Tuchel wants defensive reinforcements to combat the unique nature of the season, with a World Cup starting in November.
