Paramount+ launching in UK THIS week and could make you ditch Netflix
JUST when you thought there were enough streaming services, Paramount is getting in on the act too now.
The US entertainment giant is making its big Paramount+ debut in the UK, with a load of old and new exclusive content to keep you happy.
But is it enough to make you ditch Netflix for good?
What is Paramount+?
Paramount+ is a streaming service run by Paramount Global, the same company which has made thousands of films under Paramount Pictures.
Paramount owns loads of big names, which you can expect to see stuff from on the new streaming platform.
This includes Showtime, BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, as well as Paramount Pictures and the Smithsonian Channel.
It has already launched in the US, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Nordics, and Australia.
And now it’s heading to the UK.
What’s available on Paramount+?
Paramount says it will launch with more than 8,000 hours of content for the whole family.
Some of the biggest series will be available, including Star Trek, Yellowstone, South Park and MTV Shores, to SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol and Rugrats.
The slate of originals are:
- HALO
- 1883
- Star Trek: Strange New Worlds
- The Offer
- Mayor of Kingstown
- Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber
- The First Lady
- The Man Who Fell to Earth
- Queen of the Universe
- Jerry & Marge Go Large
Blockbuster movies from Paramount will also be available, such as Scream 5, Grease and Star Trek.
When is Paramount+ launching in the UK?
Paramount+ will be available in the UK and Ireland on June 22.
How much will Paramount+ cost?
Paramount+ will cost £6.99 per month or £69.90 for the year.
But anyone with a Sky Cinema subscription can access Paramount+ at no extra cost.
