Panthers star caught in questionable GF act
Panthers star Jarome Luai’s premiership celebrations could be soured after an apparent kick out on an opponent during the grand final win over the Eels.
Luai ran for 76 metres and had four tackle breaks in the Panthers’ 28-12 win over the Eels, but could find himself in hot water over a moment from the first half.
The incident in question occurred in the 24th minute as the Panthers were trying to forge their way forward once again.

Luai’s teammate Brian To’o was being tackled by a pair of Parramatta players, with Isiah Papali’i one of them. As the tackle was completed, Luai approached and appeared to kick Papali’i in the back.
The incident went unpunished at the time, but eagle-eyed fans on social media did not miss it, and the judiciary is likely to scrutinise the footage.
Penrith claimed its second straight premiership after dominating the grand final on Sunday night.
To’o scored two tries, while Stephen Crichton, Charlie Staines and Scott Sorensen also hit the scoreboard.
The Panthers led 28-0 before two late consolation tries for Eels captain Clint Gutherson and Jakob Arthur in the final five minutes of the match.
