Pakistan vs Australia, T20 World Cup 2021 2nd Semi Final Live Score Updates: Pakistan Dominate In Semifinal, Australia Seek Breakthrough | Cricket News

After being sent to bat, Pakistan are off to a good start vs Australia in the second semifinal of the ongoing T20 World Cup at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are dominating the Australia bowlers with regular boundaries. The opening duo have been in top form right from their first match of the tournament where they thrashed arch-rivals India by 10 wickets. Meanwhile, Babar has also surpassed England’s Jos Buttler to become the leading run-scorer in the ongoing tournament. Both the teams have made no changes in their playing XI. Pakistan were unbeaten in the Super 12 Round while Australia lost one game to England. Pakistan have never won an ICC knockout game against Australia but they have a very good chance to change their fortune this time with a well-balanced team. On the other hand, Australia who made it to the semifinals on basis of a better net run-rate than South Africa had struggled with their team combination in the initial matches but later towards the conclusion of the Super 12 round they ticked their main boxes. The winners of this clash will face New Zealand in the final at the same venue on Sunday. (LIVE SCORECARD)

“We will bowl. The wicket will not change a lot over the course of the game. The guys are relaxed, there’ll be obvious nerves. This pitch has played true right through the IPL and the World Cup and expect more of the same tonight, no changes in the playing XI,” said Australia captain Aaron Finch after winning the toss.

Australia Playing XI: David Warner, Aaron Finch(c), Mitchell Marsh, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade(w), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Promoted

“We’ll have to put runs on the board and then defend it. It’s an honour to lead this bunch of players, looking forward to playing some good cricket. UAE is our backyard, we know these conditions well. No changes for us as well,” said Pakistan skipper Babar Azam.

Pakistan Playing XI: Mohammad Rizwan(w), Babar Azam(c), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi
