Paddy McGuiness admits feeling ‘homesick’ since split from Christine
Paddy McGuiness, 49, has broken his silence since splitting with Christine McGuiness, 35, after 11 years of marriage last July.
The Top Gear host admitted he feels “homesick” whenever he has to work away from home, as he continues to live with his estranged partner and their three children.
Paddy recently spent time away from home as he travelled to South Africa for his latest Channel 4 show, Tempting Fortunes.
Speaking to The Sun’s TV magazine, Paddy spoke about his busy schedule and how much he struggles when he is away from his family.
He admitted: “I’ve always had a sort of rule that I stick by where I never do more than nine days anywhere because I just like being at home. I think naturally you get homesick.

“When I used to do Take Me Out, for instance, you think a bit differently because you’re in the UK, so psychologically it isn’t that bad, but Take Me Out used to take a week, So Take Me Out, weirdly, out of everything I’ve done, is the show that took me away from home the longest.”
Paddy said he keeps in contact with his loved ones via video call, while contestants are not allowed to contact their families.
He continued: “It’s when you’re in the position these guys [the contestants on Tempting Fortune] are in, where you’ve literally got zero contact with your family, that’s when the chips are really down.”
This comes after Paddy’s estranged wife Christine spoke earlier this week to Heart FM’s No Filter about her family arrangements.
She explained: “We’re not actually like any other family I know.
“I love the way we are, I try not to compare myself to any other family because we’re actually not like any other family that I know.
“So, I’m comfortable and I embrace our family the way we are, and I love our differences.
“Each and every family is unique anyway but ours is just one that I’ve never seen on any social media platform before and I’m quite proud of that.
“I love us, I love the way we are.”
The former couple still lives together and have not told their kids about their split in order to keep things as “normal as possible” for their three autistic children: twins Penelope, and Leo, nine, and Felicity, six.
