After delivering Afterparty as their next game, now the developers are back into the Oxenfree universe for a sequel, which is expected to launch in 2022, and to be more specific, in February of 2022, based on a recent leak from PlayStation Database.
PlayStation Database Leaks a Q1 2022 Release Date for Oxenfree 2
According to the PlayStation Database and reported by several trustworthy Twitter sources, Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals targets February 8, 2022, as its release date.
Looking at the calendar, the aforementioned date is Tuesday, which is a pretty common day for games to launch on the market. So, fingers crossed, we can play this anticipated story-driven game in almost a month and a half.
Night School Studio, the developer behind Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals, was acquired by Netflix earlier this year as the very first gaming studio that will work under the management of the giant streaming service to bring brand new experiences to Netflix Games, which features less than 10 games at the moment.
Oxenfree 2 Lost Signals will be available on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. There has been no word on an Xbox edition so far, but it might release on Microsoft’s console as well sometime later in 2022.
Also, Oxenfree 2 will not be available through Netflix Games at launch as it will be published by MWM Interactive based on a previous deal before the Netflix acquisition of Night School Studio.
