Overwatch 2 Season 4 Offers Multiple Events, Mercy Fixes, a Big Brigitte Buff, and More

Overwatch 2 Season 4 kicks off in less than a week, and while we’ve already heard quite a bit about the new support hero Lifeweaver, Blizzard has now detailed what else we can expect. Players can look forward to a couple of events, challenges for Lifeweaver and Symmetra, a limited-time “non-canon” map partly designed by fans, balance tweaks, and, of course, a new battle pass and cosmetics. You can check out a Season 4 trailer featuring some gameplay and the new skins, below.

Season 4’s events include B.O.B. & Weave, which offers a 3v3 LTM in which everyone plays as Lifeweaver and can pull a B.O.B. around the map, and the Starwatch event, featuring the Galactic Rescue LTM, a 4v4 offering that takes place on the Horizon Lunar Colony and sees players siding with either the Watchers and Infinite Empire. In addition to that, Battle for Olympus will also return in May and players can try out the Talantis map, partly designed in collaboration with fans, for a limited time. In addition to all that, Blizzard is promising to revert some divisive Mercy changes that made the perennial favorite less fun to play and give Brigitte a nice boost.

“We listened to feedback from y’all regarding our changes to Mercy that were introduced in Season 3. While our goal was to make her healing more engaging when saving low-health allies, her sustainability shifted from her mobility to being able to stay alive through her passive and Valkyrie, making her not as fun to play or play against. We’re reverting these changes, with a slight adjustment to how guardian angel works to keep her boosted jump under control.

Next up, we’re looking to address Brigitte’s ultimate ability Rally to be more engaging and powerful when she is using the ultimate. Brigitte now gains a fixed amount of recoverable armor and powers her shield up with increased size and health, along with the ability to stun. So, when you hear her battle cry, get ready for some wild brawls.”

Finally, if you want to know more about Lifeweaver, Wccftech’s Ule Lopez recently went hands-on with the new Support hero…

“Lifeweaver seems like a decent addition to Overwatch 2. His support abilities, while allowing for more movement options and incredible positioning, will still need aid from the second support unit and other allies to work effectively. The character will be pretty easy to pick up, but mastering his movement options and abilities may take time.”

Overwatch 2 can be played on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. Season 4 kicks off on April 11.
