Outrage as Taylor Swift presale tickets already being resold for £6,000
Yesterday saw the first presale for UK fans desperate to get Taylor Swift tickets but disappointed Swifties have already spotted tickets being resold.
As AXS and Ticketmaster faced some technical difficulties, fans did manage to grab a seat to the Eras Tour for London and Edinburgh dates.
The process was a complex one with presale codes only given to those who pre-ordered Taylor’s Midnights album from her online store.
This was in hopes of stopping scalpers from buying up all the tickets and reselling them for a high value, even before the general sale.
However, some have still slipped through the cracks as tickets to both Edinburgh and London have appeared for sale on resell sites Viagogo and Stubhub.
Stubhub currently has over 200 tickets for London night one for sale all costing over £460 – much higher than their original value.
It’s unclear whether these tickets are legitimate or not but they have angered fans who missed out on seats
Most of the tickets for London’s June 21 and August 15 gigs are priced at around £350 on Viagogo, for seats that cost around £100 in the presale.
Edinburgh’s dates are similar prices, sitting at £260 when the seats were much cheaper in the actual sale.
Stubhub is much more expensive, almost quadrupling the price on some nosebleed seats.
Most horrifically, seated lower-tier tickets are on Stubhub for over £6,000 – a whopping 30 times the original price.
Some front-standing tickets, which are £172.25 in London sales, are now on offer for £1,500.
This has understandably upset fans, particularly because of all the measures put in to make sure this doesn’t happen.

The only way someone could have gotten those tickets would have been to use a presale code reserved only for fans who purchased Midnights.
‘They should be cancelled there’s so many genuine fans who want tickets, this isn’t okay,’ said a disappointed Swiftie.
‘It’s so disappointing! Genuine Taylor fans are being completely dismissed. Re sales for Edinburgh were live at 11.10am!’ added another.
A third said: ‘This is crazy when this is supposed to be a fan only preordered the album sale.’
It’s unclear if tickets will be valid if resold on a secondary site as screenshots don’t work on Ticketmaster e-tickets.
