Organising expert reveals one easy trick to make decluttering speedier

Sometimes it really is the little things (Picture: Tik Tok/@organizedmamas)

Even if you love cleaning, letting go of clutter can be a task and a half.

To make everything that much easier, an organising expert who posts under the username organizedmamas has taken to TikTok to share her top tip for speeding the process along.

The concept is simple – make yourself a declutter caddy to have with you ‘every single time’.

What is that, you ask? In her video, she explains: ‘It’s basically like a cleaning caddy except it has all the things you need to declutter: garbage bags, Post-It notes, labels, label makers, cleaning supplies.’

It sounds super simple, but mustering up the will to reorganise isn’t always easy.

The idea is that a decluttering caddy can save your energy for the task at hand.

Instead of running around your house looking for all your go-to organisation tools, you’ll already have them right there in your handy caddy.

‘After you clean out your drawer, you have cleaning supplies right there,’ she says in the clip.

‘Putting items back into a shelf? You have your label maker at hand.’

If you’re looking for more decluttering hacks, you can check out these favourite tips of Instagram organising influencers.

For instance, professional tidier and author Vicky Silverthorn recommended trying not to do too much at once.

She told us: ‘Not trying to do too much at a time is a good tip (many people are still busy with work and children) so start small – a drawer or cupboard.’
