Only Fools and Horses fans hit back as Twitter users claim show was overrated

Only Fools and Horses fans are in uproar as some social media users have said that the popular British sitcom is “overrated”. The hit BBC show – that aired from 1981 to 2003 – has, since its conclusion, gained a huge dedicated following.

Many were quick to defend the show, which was trending on Twitter today (April 11), over the recent comments that criticised the sitcom. One outspoken fan said: “Anybody slagging Only Fools and Horses are either only saying it to be controversial or they are in fact a boring, humourless nonce who needs their hard drive checking.”

Whilst another opinionated user quickly added: “Only Fools and Horses is the greatest British sitcom ever made. End of discussion.” A third penned: “When you read folk on Twitter saying Only Fools and Horses is overrated.”

One comment came from a social media user who’d said that the show only had “three or four standout scenes” throughout its entire seven seasons. They wrote: “Only Fools and Horse was mostly total sh*** and its entire reputation is built on only three or four standout scenes.”

It seems that the show is still beloved as one fan was quick to point out that it is still talked about till this day. “If Only Fools and Horses is so bad, how come it’s trending 26 years after it’s final episode?”

The hugely popular sitcom is commonly voted as Britain’s best loved sitcom and has been a firm family favourite across the UK since it first appeared in our screens. It follows the lives two brothers, Derek “Del Boy” Trotter and younger brother Rodney, as they attempt to get rich quick through multiple schemes.
