One Piece Odyssey “Reunion of Memories” DLC to Add “Fan-Favorite Stories and Battles”
One Piece Odyssey has proven to be a solid success as far as anime-based games go, and those looking for more from the RPG are in luck, as Bandai Namco has announced the Reunion of Memories DLC. It seems this DLC will amend new content to the end of One Piece Odyssey, with characters traveling into their own memories so players can experience more favorite moments from the series’ history. The moments we can expect remain largely under wraps, but the Reunion of Memories teaser trailer does feature a few faces not in the base game. You can check that out, below.
Need to know more? Here’s Bandai Namco’s official description for Reunion of Memories.
“Reunion of Memories will unlock new adventures once players complete the main storyline in One Piece Odyssey, sending the Straw Hat Crew back into Memoria, the world made up of their memories. They will embark on an all-new journey filled with even more dramatic changes to beloved story arcs like Alabasta to unravel one final mystery.”
One Piece Odyssey producer Katsuaki Tsuzuki has provided a few more details, including that the DLC will focus more heavily on battles.
“This DLC plans to incorporate fan-favorite stories and battles into One Piece Odyssey. One of the key points of this DLC is the them of “New hidden story with bonds.” Another is that the story will more heavily focus on battles. […] We’ve prepared many battles that demand a more tactical approach, as well as some special winning conditions, so you can expect to find a new kind of challenge.
There will be some new characters that were not included in the main game. Of course, we won’t spoil all of them, so you can be surprised to find other characters where you least expect them!”
Haven’t been keeping up with One Piece Odyssey? Wccftech’s Kai Powell found the game to be a solid RPG perhaps missing that certain something in his full review…
“As a turn-based JRPG, One Piece Odyssey hits the mark more often than not and is one of the highest-quality licensed IP titles to come from Shonen Jump’s lineage of manga, but something is missing from making this adventure truly special. If fans are looking for a celebration of Oda’s work, this Odyssey is a trip worth taking. However, if you’re considering this as the first trip aboard the Going Merry, a few hundred chapters of light reading might be the essential primer you need to get the most out of becoming Luffy’s nakama.”
One Piece Odyssey can be played on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. The Reunion of Memories DLC doesn’t have a firm launch date, but it’s “coming soon.”
