Ole Gunnar Solskjaer angry at Aston Villa stars over Bruno Fernandes’ Man Utd penalty miss
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was angry at the behaviour of the Aston Villa players as Bruno Fernandes prepared to take Manchester United’s stoppage-time penalty on Saturday. Fernandes blazed his effort over the crossbar as the Red Devils suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season.
Some Villa players surrounded Fernandes before the penalty was taken and the Portugal international was unable to convert his opportunity to grab his side a share of the spoils.
“I wasn’t going to mention it but it’s not right that they do that,” said the United boss.
“I guess that should be a yellow card for someone but they have achieved what they wanted. Unfortunately we missed the chance to get a point.”
United endured a day to forget at Old Trafford as they were frustrated by Villa all afternoon.
They never really got going against a tenacious Villa side and even star man Cristiano Ronaldo had a quiet day in front of the home fans.
