Old video shared as Pakistani Taliban threatening India after Afghanistan’s takeover – Alt News
A video of an armed man threatening Prime Minister Narendra Modi with violence against India has been shared as a recent threat by the Pakistani Taliban. The man says that Pakistan’s flag will be hoisted in Delhi. Pakistani Canadian author Tarek Fatah shared the video, drawing over 1.3 lakh views.

BJP leader Ravinder Gupta, who was one of the candidates for BJP in the 2020 Delhi elections, also shared the video with an off-putting caption.

Facebook page NAMO India shared the video suggesting that voting out PM Modi in 2024 will be detrimental for the country.

Fact-check
A reverse image search of one of the keyframes of the video took us to the same clip uploaded in August 2019. This itself debunks the claim that the threat was made after the Taliban took over Afghanistan.
Alt News searched for the man’s speech on Google and found that Aaj Tak had covered the video in September 2019, linking it to the aftermath of the removal of J&K’s special status. However, we were unable to get the exact details of the video.
A subsequent reverse-search on Yandex threw a result that said ‘Syed Afridi’.
A Facebook search of the name in Urdu took us to the Pakistani Facebook page ‘Said kaber offecial page’ which had uploaded the video on February 22, 2019. The video has over 5.5 lakh views. “Tribal leader Malik Syed Kabir Afridi has given a clear answer to Narendra Modi government. Listen and help deliver to India. Please don’t forget to like and share,” reads the Google translation of the Urdu caption.

A comparison of the man’s facial features as seen in the video with an image from the Facebook page establishes he is the same person.
The man has been identified by the page as Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s General Secretary Said Kaber Afridi. According to a few reports, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam had welcomed the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan.
Afridi uploaded a photograph of himself on his personal Facebook page where he can be seen with similar assault rifles as in the viral video. This was earlier fact-checked by India Today.

A two-year-old video of a Pakistani politician threatening to capture India has been shared as the Pakistani Taliban’s recent threat. Aaj Tak had aired the same video in September 2019, linking it to the Modi government’s dilution of Article 370. However, the video dates back to February 2019 and J&K’s special status was removed in August 2019.
